Safe & Sound promotes individual and professional growth through a variety of programs and services. Whether your focus is booking a dynamic speaker for an hour or two, organizing a full day training session or hiring a professional coach, Safe & Sound has a service that will inspire success. Owner Debra deWaal has been speaking and coaching since 1995 and has a vision to create a safer world for both individuals and in your work environment.
Please Note: Safe & Sound is no longer
running the Safekids II, Safeteen and Level
I programs. These programs have been
purchased by a former Safe & Sound
facilitator, Lorna Selig. If you require
information on these three programs, please
Those of you who've heard me speak over the last year know that I've gone through some significantly challenging times (more on that in a future blog - many lessons learned). However, I've come out of these hard times tougher and hopefully wiser and am looking forward to a new start, including a restructuring of Safe & Sound.
If you are looking for me to come speak at your event, do a half or full day training session or wish to hire me for coaching services, I'm ready to go! However, if you are looking to book a Safekids II, Safeteen or Level I program, I've sold them to a former Safe & Sound Instructor who is now running these three courses under her new company. Please contact Lorna Selig, www.safe4life if you wish to book one of those programs.
Please check out the services section on this website and you will see my tried and true sessions that you may wish to book again, or you may see some new sessions and services that you may not have known about before.
It is my intention to produce a blog about once every month or two entitled Wise Pursuits. Thanks and I will look forward to connecting with you soon! Warmest Regards, Deb deWaal
What people are saying about Deb...
It's truly rare someone like me is left speechless, like I was end of day yesterday
- so I wanted to reach out and once again say THANK YOU. What an absolutely amazing session we had with you yesterday. Thoroughly informative yet entertaining with real life based scenarios as well as the passion and emotion that connected us. Simply superb!

I''m sure you hear this all the time (and if you don't hear it, you should be hearing it), you're a very dynamic speaker and definitely know how to captivate your audience. I'm hoping we will invite you in for another session soon and if so, I'll
definitely be there.
Carolin A. Rogers Insurance
You're my new hero, and I'm glad I got to tell you so.
Well, what can I say except that your dynamic presentation was the most memorable one that we've had in a long time. What a great time we all had
- my face still hurts from laughing so much.
Rita C. Association of Administrative Assistants
Your enthusiasm was appreciated; the laughter was good for everyone! It is such a great experience when we can learn and laugh at the same time. You definitely have a talent for what you do!

I attended the Open Safety meeting, Home & Personal Safety, on March 15th which featured Deb deWaal, and was the most entertaining (and informative) safety meeting I've ever experienced!! I say
'featured', because she really injected a great deal of energy, enthusiasm, and fun to the proceedings, whilst address a serious subject.
Lisa H. Shell Canada Limited
That was a fantastic presentation!! It was inspirational, motivating, refreshing and entertaining. You are very, very good at what you do. Keep it up.

Thank you again for coming to see us at the Holy Cross Long Term Care Center. The staff continue to rave about the seminar. We will highly recommend your program to others and continue the quest to protect and empower our employees.

May I say, that was one of the most invigorating meetings I've ever been to. Thank you so much for bringing this into our office, it was dynamic to say the least. If Deb had turned to me and asked if I wanted to go and work for her, I'd have been there like a shot. It was just that exciting.
I recently had the opportunity to observe Deb deWaal give a presentation to a corporate audience of approximately 50 people. Seldom have I learned so much and laughed so much in one short hour. Deb has that rare ability to make people laugh and think. She is energetic, engaging, and entertaining
- a rare and valuable combination of qualities in a public speaker. Not only would I not hesitate to give Ms. deWaal an endorsement for her presentation, but I would actually urge organizations and companies to actively seek out her services and book her for a presentation
- sooner rather than later. The people in your organization will thank you.
